About the Photo

Girls from Troops 2928 and 2009 promoted the "Be a Buddy Not a Bully" program at the Lake Mills Winter Market in December. Kids and parents signed pledge cards agreeing to be a buddy not a bully and  received an orange wrist band to wear proudly. The girls enjoyed the program so much they plan to continue holding more events and gathering more names for their banner.

What are you doing March 12?

Celebrate Girl Scouts 102nd birthday on Wednesday, March 12! Here's a terrific idea: take your troop to a local fire, police or EMS station for a tour. In Madison, you'll be able to chat with real-life women firefighters who are breaking boundaries in this still male-dominated career. When you visit, be sure to take along a Girl Scout birthday cake or cupcakes to share with these brave heroes who protect our communities every day.

To schedule a tour in Madison: email CampHERO volunteer Bernadette Galvez or call her at 608.261.9844. Troops and individual Girl Scouts welcome. Other communities, contact your fire, police or EMS department directly to schedule. Note: Bernadette can help connect troops outside greater Madison with fire departments in your communities.
